About Me
Welcome to Oddjob’s Newsletter by me, Oddjob Capital. I’m an aspiring investment analyst that has finally decided to put pen to paper. After reading various substacks and deep dives from various fintwitters throughout the last 2 years, I thought what better way to practice the art of investing and pitching ideas than by starting a substack myself. Like many investors, I’ve spent an incredible amount of time reading “Investment Bibles” (One Up On Wall Street, Common Stocks and Uncommon Profits, How to Make Money in Stocks, etc.) over the years without ever actually laying out MY thinking and MY thesis (and by MY thinking/thesis, I mean what another fintwitter’s handle so eloquently puts it, mostly borrowed ideas). This blog aims to correct that. I also hope to post my own “Investment Bible” at some point, which will mostly be a compilation of the books I’ve read and laying out the overlapping principles of each.
A little bit more about me. Currently, I work in transaction advisory/consulting in the Food & Beverage space but I am early in my career and would hesitate to describe myself as a food & beverage expert. I enjoy reading and learning (and now hopefully writing) about companies in a variety of industries and hope to perhaps one day become an expert in a field or find my niche (supposedly that's where the money is at). I hope to share my work publicly to learn and hopefully have others provide constructive feedback to help me grow as an investor, writer and modeller. In saying that, please feel free to comment on my posts or DM me on Twitter @Oddjobcapital if you find any errors, have helpful pointers or disagree with anything I’ve posted. Most of the companies I will write about I either hold or would like to hold at some point.
Finally, thank you for checking out my substack and of course, none of this is investment advice and opinions are my own.
